Volunteer Team of the Year for the Mid North Coast in the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards – Marine Rescue Port Macquarie
Congratulations to the Volunteer Team of the Year for the Mid North Coast in the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards – Marine Rescue Port Macquarie
The 224 volunteers from Marine Rescue Port Macquarie received the award for their incredible dedication to protecting people across their local waterways on the Mid-North Coast.
The volunteers train three days a week, including at night, to hone and maintain their skills. With the boat crew and radio base operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the unit regularly runs Radio Operator, Crew, Rescue Water Craft (Jet Ski), Watch Officer, and sea survival courses.
More recently the team gave their time and skills to help rebuild the homes of two flood victims in Port Macquarie and Kendall.
Led by Unit Commander Greg Davies, the team are an inspiration to all in their community.
